Overview
Workshop facilitators include Sreeraj Kollarukandy, a talented new Music Therapist who has won two recent awards - the ‘Highly commended alumni’ award at the Anglia Ruskin University’s Vice Chancellors outstanding awards 2024 in the ‘Rising Star’ category, he has also won the AHP integration award for integration, based on feedback from other professionals on wards. Sreeraj's role as a Music Therapist is highly valued by those who benefit from the service, as well as a range of professionals who observe weekly the positive impact of his fantastic work’….. ‘There is often standing room only in his group and even the staff are keen to join in’
Other Music Therapists including Emily Corke who will be running a Choir workshop, Valentini Toumpari presenting her work in Paediatrics, and Naomi Thompson Research Assistant, Cambridge Institute for Music Therapy Research will be presenting research into standardising the use of Music Therapy to reduce distress on inpatient Mental Health Dementia Wards.
