William Hall - The Inevitable Sadness of Being

William Hall trained in medicine at Birmingham University and in psychiatry at Nottingham. He is currently working in New Zealand for a year as a senior registrar in a specialist Maori mental health team.

Whilst at university, he started to engage seriously in art through visits to a friend who studied fine art at Liverpool. Several painting trips in small vehicles to France later, he almost swapped to history of art and philosophy. Instead, he continued with medicine with a clearer head.

He has a keen interest in the spiritually restorative power of creativity, scepticism for those who claim to have none, and a desire to spend life as creatively as possible. He enjoys painting in oils and exploring new creative boundaries.

William Hall's work has been shown in a solo exhibition in Shrewsbury in 1998, and at the Leicester City Art Gallery Open Exhibition 2002.
