2008
21 February
MHISIG and the Informatics Committee will be holding a joint
committee meeting at the College AGM on Wednesday 2 July at
3.30pm. The venue is yet to be decided. Please also note we will be
inviting a guest speaker to the autumn committee meeting at the
College. Further details will be released soon.
5 February
The Health and Social Care Integration Programme section of the
CfH website has published details of the four early adopter sites
to trial integration solutions of personal demographic service
systems. This is an important step towards bringing together
disparate systems.

31 January
There will be an informatics session presented at the College Annual Meeting in
London on 2 July 2008 entitled 'Cyber security and the
challenges for the online therapist'. This will include
presentations on therapeutic considerations, security, privacy and
also work on a mental health informatics teaching
module. Regrettably there will be no IT skills workshops
at the 2008 meeting although we hope they will return in
2009.
2007
15 December
Dr Hashim Reza, consultant psychiatrist at Oxleas NHS Foundation
Trust has been appointed as clinical lead for mental
health for the NHS Care Records Service in London. Clinical
leads are practising clinicians who will spend one day a week
ensuring that the London systems meet clinical requirements.
26 July
2007 was another successful year for the IT skills
workshops in Edinburgh. These were well attended and
the structured feedback forms demonstrated a high degree of
satisfaction. The workshops are constantly adapting to keep up with
changes in information technology and the generally improving
baseline skills of workshop attenders. There was also an
informatics session comprising presentations on Connecting for
Health, computerised CBT & an educational module on mental
health informatics. The MHISIG AGM minutes can be found in the

15 May
MHISIG will be offering a total of 12 workshops at the College
Annual Meeting in Edinburgh. In addition there is a joint MHISIG /
IC presentation. More details on our events

2006
3 May
The Computers in Psychiatry book edited by MHISIG committee
member Dr Fionnbar Lenihan has been published and is available from
Gaskell Books. More details on our books page.
4 February
Following acceptance of a paper on the joint working of
MHISIG and the Informatics Committee, a new structure has been
established and CIPSIG name has been changed to MHISIG. Read more
