Feedback quotes from 2012
Awards
What do you feel made you successful in your category?
“My enthusiasm to many aspects
of my job - from the political parts (Local Negotiating, Education
and BMA Junior Doctors Committees), to my interest in fighting
stigma (Public Education Committee) and working on behalf of
trainees (Psychiatric Trainees Committee). ”
Core Psychiatric Trainee of the
Year: Dr Rory Conn
“Throughout my 3½ years as
an SpR, I had an elated feeling of being in my dream job, so
working hard actually became quite easy. I think being very
productive during my SpR days was a big factor in winning this
award, as it allowed me to have many things on my CV."
Advanced Psychiatric Trainee of
the Year: Dr Himanshu Tyagi
What advice would you give to
other people who feel that they may be eligible to be entered for
such an award?
“Think Outcomes. Think how
everything you do delivers warm, emphatic, evidence based and
skilled care...and be able to evidence that you deliver the better
outcomes that people need.
And have courage! Bringing about change is hard, you need to be
brave, and you need to show you can do it over a long period, not
just once!”
Psychiatrist of the
Year: Dr Geraldine
Strathdee
