The Royal College of Psychiatrists Improving the lives of people with mental illness

Fancy writing an article for the student associate newsletter?

The student associate newsletter is sent to hundreds of medical students and foundation trainees across the country and is published on the website of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Articles should be a maximum of 400-500 words. If you want to write something longer, please write a 400-500 word summary of your article for the newsletter and provide a longer article for the College website, which can be linked from the newsletter.

The newsletter has the following themes:

  • Psychiatry societies - News from psychiatry societies across the country
  • Electives and international mental health - Organising electives, elective reports, research electives, special study modules, and articles about psychiatry overseas
  • Psychiatry and the arts - Explorations of mental illness, psychiatry and psychoanalysis in film, literature, art and popular culture
  • Careers in psychiatry - Experiences of different psychiatric subspecialties, and how to apply for psychiatric training posts
  • Education - Accounts of psychiatry attachments, intercalated degrees, tips for passing psychiatry exams, reviews on resources, etc
  • Events - Information about forthcoming events, and reviews on past events

To submit an article or to discuss further ideas for the newsletter, email Sacha Evans at: sacha01@doctors.org.uk
