The Kings Health Partners Model
Kings College, Guys & St Thomas’ Hospitals, Kings College
Hospital and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust in
South London are now functioning as an integrated health sciences
centre. The paediatric liaison (hospital based child psychology and
psychiatry) departments of Kings College Hospital and St Thomas’s
Hospital jointly form the National and Specialist Paediatric
Liaison Service under the CAMHS Directorate of the South London and
Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. The service has specialist
psychologists, child psychiatrists, occupational therapist and
nursing staff to look after children with general medical
conditions, sickle cell disease, paediatric liver diseases,
children with tics, children with acquired brain injuries and other
illnesses. Being a national service, they are happy to receive
referrals from anywhere in the United Kingdom subject to funding
agreement from the local health authorities or private
sources.
