The Kings Health Partners Model

Kings College, Guys & St Thomas’ Hospitals, Kings College Hospital and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust in South London are now functioning as an integrated health sciences centre. The paediatric liaison (hospital based child psychology and psychiatry) departments of Kings College Hospital and St Thomas’s Hospital jointly form the National and Specialist Paediatric Liaison Service under the CAMHS Directorate of the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. The service has specialist psychologists, child psychiatrists, occupational therapist and nursing staff to look after children with general medical conditions, sickle cell disease, paediatric liver diseases, children with tics, children with acquired brain injuries and other illnesses. Being a national service, they are happy to receive referrals from anywhere in the United Kingdom subject to funding agreement from the local health authorities or private sources.
