Reading Bengali web pages
The Bengali language is not well implemented on the Internet.
Most computers running Windows XP with service pack 2 or Vista
should read them automatically, but it is harder with older
systems. We have now added PDFs of all the Benagli leaflets, and
you should be able to read these on any system.
These pages are optimised to be read with Unicode fonts. If the
pages are not readable this might be because you have not configued
your PC to read Bengali. If you have Windows XP or later
then this includes the Vrinda font which will work on these
pages; if you can't read the page you need to set up your computer
for indic fonts.
If you don't have this font then:
1. This link will enable
you to save the SolaimanLipi font to your computer (keep a note of
the folder where it has been saved).
2. Then if you are using XP go to. 'Start' > 'Control Panel'
> 'Fonts'.
3. Double click 'fonts' then select 'File' > 'Install new
font'.
4. Select the folder where the font was saved on your
computer in step 1. Once you select the right folder the font
name should appear in the 'list of fonts' window. Highlight it,
then press OK. This should ensure the page is readable.
