12 December: Debt and Mental Health

Most of us look forward to Christmas but for people living with mental illness it can be a very challenging time of year. Many feel lonely and isolated from family and friends and others may be anxious about social situations or have worries about money problems or debt.

Each day leading up to Christmas we’re highlighting a different mental health resource from our site, which we hope will provide help and support not just for now, but throughout 2018 and beyond.

For 12 December we’ve chosen our information about debt and mental health. Debt can cause - and be caused by - mental health problems. It's tempting to just not think about it - it can be uncomfortable and can make you feel guilty, depressed - or even hopeless. But sorting money problems out can help you to feel better - and to stay well.
