14 December: Help with bereavement

Most of us look forward to Christmas but for people living with mental illness it can be a very challenging time of year. Many feel lonely and isolated from family and friends and others may be anxious about social situations or have worries about money problems or debt.

Each day leading up to Christmas we’re highlighting a different mental health resource from our site, which we hope will provide help and support not just for now, but throughout 2018 and beyond.

For 14 December we’ve chosen our information about bereavement. Bereavement is a distressing but common experience. Sooner or later, most of us will lose someone we love. Our information on bereavement is for anyone who has been bereaved, their family and friends, and anyone else who wants to learn more.
