RCPsych in Scotland Prizes

RCPsych in Scotland Research Prize

Each year the College in Scotland gives a cash incentive to encourage trainees and newly appointed consultants to publish papers.  The prize is given for a paper published in a Peer Reviewed journal.  The prize is normally advertised from November each year with a closing date of end of March and the prize is then awarded at the Summer meeting each year in May/June.

Papers are judged by a panel established by the RCPsych in Scotland and will include officers and a Professor of Psychiatry. The winner will be expected to present their work at a future meeting of the RCPsych in Scotland.

The prize is normally £500.

Open to all categories of membership of the RCPsych in Scotland of the RCPsych other than Fellows (Members, Specialist Associates, Affiliates, Pre-Membership Psychiatric Trainees, etc) in good standing, who have been in their present category of membership for less than ten years. Allowance may be made for members who have worked less than full time for more than ten years, so long as the total time is equivalent to less than ten years.
