College Elections - please use your option to VOTE ONLINE!

Since the start of 2011, and in order to make the process easier for members, you now have the option to vote online directly to the Electoral Reform Services.  It is hoped that this will encourage greater participation in College elections.  Please keep an eye open for your next opportunity to vote, and discover how easy it is!

Trent Division Media Response

The Trent Division would like to encourage local Consultants to respond to local media issues more in the future.

The first step is to create a register of those within the Trent Division who have been media trained, and then work towards establishing a team to be led by Dr Deborah Chaloner. Please contact the Divisional Office if you have been media trained and would be willing to respond to local issues.

If anyone is interested in being media trained then please also contact the Divisional Office.

News and updates

The latest edition of the Trent Division Newsletter has now been published and can be downloaded here Issue 8. July 2011.

The newsletter is published twice a year in January and July.  Previous editions can be found here.

If you would like to contribute an article, advertise an event or share your views with the membership please contact Nikki or Sue in the Divisional Office.

About the Trent Division

The Trent Division of The Royal College of Psychiatrists covers the following areas: Barnsley, Doncaster, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, North Derbyshire, South Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Rotherham, Sheffield and the South Humber.

This is a large geographical area stretching from Sheffield in the north, to Leicester in the south, and from the Pennines in the west to the Lincolnshire coast and the Wash in the east. There are three medical schools in the Division at Sheffield, Nottingham and Leicester.

The Trent Division Executive Committee meets every 3 months at different venues within the region, and an Annual Meeting with a substantial academic content takes place once a year.  The Trent Division CPD Committee meets prior to Executive Committee meetings.  The Annual Meeting is open to all Members and Associates of the Division - it has CPD approval and includes various prizes and competitions. The Executive Committee of the Trent Division is particularly keen to encourage CPD and Affiliateship, and fully supports the College in its drive against stigma.
