College members may request free photocopied pages from items held in the College journal or book collection. Non-members are charged per article unless they have arranged day access.

Articles from outside our collection can be obtained through various inter-library arrangements. A small administrative charge is made for this service and we request that a copyright declaration form be signed in advance for each document requested.

Books held in the College library may be borrowed by members. There is no charge for College library books being posted to you.

Books not held in the College library can be interloaned from another library. There is a small administrative charge made to interloan books.

 

To request a book held in the library or one to be interloaned, please email the library.

 

Members are entitled to free literature searches. Literature searches are undertaken using the following databases:

 

Medline (1966-)
PsycInfo (1887-)
Embase Psychiatry (last 10 years)
Embase Neuroscience (last 10 years)
HMIC databases (database from the King's Fund and the Department of Health)

 

You can request a literature search to be done for you, or you can log on to Ovid and undertake your own literature search.

Alternatively, Medline can be found free at Infotrieve or National Library of Medicine. Medline is produced by the National Library of Medicine in the USA, and it indexes and abstracts thousands of health related articles published in learned journals.

 

Payment can be made in advance, or we will send you an invoice. Payment can be made by cheque or credit card. Cheques should be made payable to The Royal College of Psychiatrists and returned to the Library and Information Services department.
