Gatsby - Wellcome Neuroscience

The College has been awarded a grant from the Gatsby and Wellcome Foundations to set up a Commission to review our Core curriculum with the aim of training psychiatrists to integrate a modern neuroscience perspective into their clinical work.    Our purpose is to ensure that the rapidly ongoing and exciting advances of basic and clinical neuroscience are more relevant and accessible to trainees, so that they are better equipped to develop and deliver innovative biomedical approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of adult mental health, neurodevelopmental, and neurodegenerative disorders. We will also use this as an opportunity to conduct a thorough review of the content of the current curriculum.

There will be a Project Group within the College to look at how the recommendations of the Commission can be implemented. We are looking for members of this group; they should have special expertise in either education or neuroscience. They may be College members or trainees. The role will be voluntary. The group will meet several times a year and there will be some work to do between meetings.

If you are willing to join this group please send a one page statement describing your suitability to by 31 July 2016
