This book is the product of the author's illness and her recovery. It is a collection of Lorraine’s poetry,artwork and photography. It is beautifully produced and contains within its pages stories and images expressing the range of emotions experienced in the depths of illness and on the recovery journey. Anyone expecting another dry, medicalised tome will be pleasantly surprised. Blenkiron approaches his subject with clarity, humanity and even, at times, humour. Although Blenkiron’s target audience are clinicians, I feel that, with a bit of interpretation on the behalf of the reader, this book could also serve quite well as a self-help manual.
