New resources on OCD and memory problems for World Mental Health Day

10 October 2019

To mark World Mental Health Day, we’re releasing two updated resources, designed to give those living with OCD or memory problems a better understanding of their illness.

The new resources – part of an award-winning series designed for both patients and friends and family – break down each diagnosis, discuss symptoms, explore treatment options and provide links to further support. RCPsych’s online mental health resources are the only ones available in the UK written by psychiatrists.

World Mental Health Day comes just after the launch of Choose Psychiatry 2019, our flagship careers campaign designed to encourage medical students and junior doctors to choose our specialty.

Celebrations at the College

As well as releasing our new resources, a myriad of interactive activities are taking place throughout the day for College staff. These include:

  • a talk from psychiatrist Dr Shahid Latif on sleep and its impact on mental health
  • a presentation from Huw Stone on suicide and self-harm
  • a performance from The Music Man Project – an award-winning music education service for children and adults with learning disabilities
  • an interactive session lead by Dementia Friends.

You can follow all the sessions happening at the College on our Twitter feed.
