Policy and Public Affairs Committee


 


The Policy and Public Affairs Committee meets four times a year to discuss current policy issues and approve College documentation. The Committee members include representation from all divisions, faculties and jurisdictions within the College, as well as service users and carers and members of the Policy and Communications Department.

 

The Committee receives detailed feedback from the Policy Unit, and discusses any policy issues which are relevant to the wider Committee. The Committee has the function of approving College documentation for publication.

Professional Practice and Ethics Committee


 

The Committee meets four times a year to discuss guidance on psychiatric professional practice, including issues of policy into practice, confidentiality, probity and conflicts of interest. Members of the Committee are those who have expertise and interest in ethics, confidentiality, quality standards and the relationship between policy and practice.

The Committee allocates time to discuss separately issues involving confidentiality and ethics, as well as issues surrounding professional practice.
