About our Parliamentary work

The College's Parliamentary team works to support the interests of psychiatrists, service users and carers through developing links and providing information and advice on psychiatric matters to politicians, civil servants and opinion formers. The College's political work is coordinated through the College's Westminster Parliamentary Committee, chaired by Dr Ian Hall. The College divisions liaise with the devolved administrations directly.

The information in this section is organised by the administration it relates to, i.e. the UK Parliament based in Westminster, the Scottish Parliament, Welsh Assembly, Northern Ireland Assembly and Irish Parliament.

As the Parliamentary voice of the College, we are always eager to hear from College members about any recent developments or concerns in your area. We can also help you to develop links with local politicians to discuss issues affecting your area. To find out more information, or to see how you can get involved, please contact Neil Balmer, Public Affairs Manager.
