Being"different" is difficult to accept at any time in your life, but for a very young child it is particularly challenging and upsetting. Reading Lights is a series of four comic books for 4 to 7 year-olds which address in a simple but creative way what it is like to be "different". Each of the books has an animal as its central character.

These innovative, humorous and beautifully illustrated books have been designed to develop children's strengths and confidence. They can be enjoyed by children alone, but it is likely that teachers or parents will want to read and discuss them together.

The books are accompanied by a big colourful poster and four photocopiable resource sheets that suggest actvities and provide a helpful discussion framework. The four stories are based on an original idea by Dr Anula Nikapota.
