1. Bob moved to a group home.
2. Jon helped him unpack.
3. Bob liked his new friends.
4. That night, Bob woke everyone with his
screaming.
5. In the morning, Bob went crazy.
6. “What’s wrong?” asked Jon.
7. “Shut up or I’ll give you one!” shouted
Bob.
8. Bob smashed up his room.
9. Bob felt terrible. He didn’t know what to
do.
10. Jon rang Steve, their social worker. Jon
said, “We’re all frightened
of Bob!”
11. Steve came straight away.
12. “Bob’s upstairs!” said everyone.
13. Steve knocked on Bob’s door.
14. Bob was scared.
15. Steve came in and saw the mess.
16. He found Bob hiding behind the door.
17. “Don’t be afraid,” said Steve. ”I’m not
going to hurt you.”
18. “What’s the matter?” asked Steve. ”It’s a
secret,” said Bob.
19. Bob clutched his trousers. Steve said,
“Your trousers are private.
Did you think I was going to touch them?”
20. “Yes!” shouted Bob.
21. “Has someone hurt your bottom?” asked
Steve.
22. “He used to come in at night, and do
things to my bum,” said Bob.
”It hurt, and I didn’t like it. He told me not
to tell.”
23. Steve listened carefully. “That’s
terrible,” he said.
24. Bob told Steve lots of things.
25. Jon knocked on the door. “Is Bob alright?”
he asked.
26. “Bob has been hurt,” said Steve. ”He had a
horrid time where he used to live.”
27. “I’m sorry I frightened you,” said Bob.
”That’s alright,” said Jon.
28. Everyone helped Bob clear up.
29. At last everyone could relax. Steve said
they had lots more talking to do.
