The day addressed issues
such as:
· Assessing and recording capacity
and competency (for young people from 0 – 18 years)
· The role of parental consent
· The legal aspects of having an
informal patient
· on a locked ward
· What to do if a 15/16 year old
informal patient wishes to leave the unit late at night
·
The legal aspects surrounding NG tube feeding where there is no
consent from young people and/or their parents
