Learning disability, physical and mental health

• The Downs Syndrome Association and the Division of Mental Health at St. George’s have come together to produce a detailed website dedicated to educating people about intellectual disability, providing information including: the common mental and physical conditions which are found in people with learning disability, the importance of self advocacy and helping someone to prepare for an event or understand what has happened using Books Beyond Words. 

• Mencap supports carers, parents and people with learning disabilities to lead full and valued lives.

• The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities provides information on getting help and support for some of the issues faced by people with learning disabilities.
