- CV and Interview Skills Course - 2 July - Coombe Lodge,
Blagdon, North Somerset
We are again running this course primarily for ST5
and ST6 doctors but it is also suitable for anyone who is applying
for a consultant or SAS post.
The Lead Tutor and programme lead is Dr Guy Undrill, Regional
Advisor for the Severn Deanery.
The course covers all aspects of applying for a post including
looking at your CV and attending a mock interview with experienced
panel members. This course is limited to 16
delegates.

- Understanding Adult ADHD Workshop - 21 September -
Redwood Lodge Hotel, Bristol
With the increase of people presenting with
adult ADHD this course is aimed at anyone working with
adults. We are fortunate to have some great speakers
including:
Professor David Nutt and Professor Philip
Asherson.

with all the speakers and workshop facilitators.

- New Consultant Course - 24 October - Coombe Lodge,
Blagdon, North Somerset
This course has been set up to help prepare
advanced trainees who are just about to take on their first
consultant role and consultants who have been appointed in the last
5 years.
It seeks to address the common anxieties
experienced by the majority of doctors moving into this
role. Participants will be able to share and explore their
experiences in a safe environment and learn from other doctors who
have roles in medical education and management and some who are
going through this transition.

- HCR-20 Practical skills in structured risk assessment -
date tbc - Coombe Lodge, Blagdon, North Somerset
HCR-20 is a risk assessment tool originally
designed for those working in forensic psychiatry but it is also an
excellent tool for anyone working in mental health where there is a
risk of violence.
The HCR-20 tool has become the accepted
‘gold-standard’ for risk assessment. Thorough detailed
risk assessment approaches such as the HCR-20 can be utilised to
develop practical approaches to the care of psychiatric patients
with an apparent predisposition towards violence.
