South West Division Training (SWDT)

The Division, through SWDT, provides high quality postgraduate education for the personal development and continuing professional development of psychiatrists in the region.

The following events are considered suitable for CPD subject to the agreement of the individual's peer group.

    The South West Division has put together the following programme of half-day courses specifically to meet the needs of retired or resting psychiatrists:

  • Social Media Course
    2 February 2016 - Coombe Lodge, Blagdon, North Somerset, BS40 7RE
    Are you curious about social media? Worried about how it is affecting our lives and the people we help? This course will be a great opportunity to learn more about all aspects of social media.
    The course leads, Dr Kate Lovett and Dr James Woollard, have put together a programme that aims to help mental health professionals make the most from social media. 
    It will enable you to understand the role of social media in a professional development, gain skills and knowledge required to sign up for social media sites or Twitter and how to use hashtags, searches and other functions.  It will show you how to keep yourself professionally safe and how to manage your professionalism on such sites, to understand the role of social media in leadership, engagement and revalidation plus a lot more.
    This course will appeal to anyone who works in mental health.
    In order to participate we ask you to bring along an internet enabled device and a willingness to have a go.
