Report 2008
European Division of the Royal
College of Psychiatrists
The European Division
focused mainly on Educational activities, especially with reference
to Eastern Europe. For this reason, it has collaborated with the
Psychiatric Association for Eastern Europe and the Balkans (PAEEB).
During the First Eastern European Congress of Psychiatry that took
place in Thessaloniki, Greece, in September 2007, the Division had
the opportunity to meet with the Presidents of the psychiatric
societies of the area of Eastern Europe and to collaborate with
them on future opportunities of educational collaboration.
Additionally, the Division tried to look into the psychiatric
legislation of countries of the area and organized a special
symposium on this important issue during the World Congress of
