Pursuing a
career
In the past, concerns were expressed that, in
contrast to clinical medicine, academic medical subjects lacked a
clear career pathway.
Recent changes, have sought to formalise and
clarify the academic career pathway. There remain however a
number of different entry points to the system and possible
directions within it.
It is particularly worth noting that the
system differs slightly depending on where you are located in the
