The selection of materials below has been put together on behalf of the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Faculty based on recommendations received from child and adolescent mental health professionals and members of the FOCUS network around the country. Other colleagues working in the field have also been instrumental in creating the list.

CD-ROM for Young People and Teachers

Changing Minds: A multi-media CD-ROM about mental health

ISBN 1901242927, RCPsych

A multi-media CD-ROM on mental health which looks at Addictions, Stress, Eating Disorders, Depression, Schizophrenia and Self-Harm. Aimed at 13-17 years, it also provides teacher's notes linked into PSHE.

Websites

  • The Child Psychotherapy Trust produces a number of publications and leaflets written by experienced child psychotherapists which give insight into the child's feelings and view of the world and help parents, and those who work with children, to make sense.

 

  • Great Ormond Street Hospital: Aimed at teenagers, this website acts as a one-stop educational resource, signposting users to further sources of specialist help and information. The content, which has all been clinically approved by Great Ormond Street Hospital, in collaboration with other organisations, covers many aspects of mental health related conditions, treatments and therapies.
