Specialty Selection Test (SST) pilot study for first year
applicants to specialty and core training:
A Specialty Selection Test is going to be piloted from January
13-25 2014 for ST1/CT1 applicants, across most specialties.
This test will include a Clinical Problem Solving (CPS) test and a
Situational Judgement Test (SJT).
The pilot for the SST will help to evaluate
and improve the selection processes currently used
and ultimately, assess whether these tests are a good
predictor of a doctor’s performance.
By participating you will be able to provide your views on this
method of selection and whether it allowed you to demonstrate your
aptitude for specialty training. You will receive feedback on
how well you performed in the national cohort, a certificate for
your ePortfolio and you will also be eligible to win one of five
prizes. These prizes include a 32GB iPad or Kindle Fire
To find out how you can be involved and for more
