Overview
Getting to grips with changes
to Postgraduate Medical Education and Training (PMET) structures,
Trainer roles, competencies and standards across the Training
calendar year
The course aims to provide Trainers with a coherent
understanding of Training structures, Trainer standards, roles and
required competencies within the context of modern PMET.
Intended Learning Outcomes
- Understand the structure of Postgraduate
Training at National (GMC), College, Deanery and Trust
level
- Understand the College’s involvement and
training components
- Be cognisant of GMC’s Professional Standards
for Training and other key training documents
- Know the National Standards for
Trainers
- Understand Clinical and Educational
Supervisory roles of the Trainer
- Understand Trainer competencies and
performance to deliver training across the annual training calendar
(timeline)
- Understand their emergent personal learning
needs and how to address them.
