Overview
Suicide
Response Training
Called ‘Connecting with
People’, this one day course is designed to reduce stigma, increase
empathy and enhance participants’ skills of assessing and
responding to people with suicidal thoughts in a compassionate way.
It promotes collaborative care using the concept of suicide
mitigation and improves the ability to conduct an effective
assessment and instigate a safe, clinically appropriate management
plan.
Train the
Trainer
This one day Train
the Trainer session develops capability to deliver the ‘Connecting
with People’ 2 hour Suicide Awareness Training for General Hospital
professionals and aims to maximise its take up and impact.
Delegates will be taught enhanced presentation and facilitation
skills and will have the opportunity to practice them in a
supportive environment.
The ‘Connecting with People’ Suicide
Awareness Training aims to reduce stigma, increase empathy and
understanding and enhance skills. It is particularly suitable for
the Emergency Department (A&E), medical and nursing
professionals, F1 and F2 doctors, medical and nursing students.
Each course is eligible for 6
CPD hours subject to your peer group approval.
Registration
The following course fees include
all materials, refreshments and a buffet lunch:
- Suicide Response Training: £175
- Train the Trainer: £245

Onsite Training
Both courses can be delivered at your trust premises with the
following group sizes:
- £3900 + VAT for up to 30 delegates for Suicide Response
Training
- £3900 + VAT for up to 16 delegates for Train the
Trainer
