Overview

This training course will enable you both to understand the legal process and to give evidence effectively. Each course is eligible for 6 CPD hours subject to your peer group approval.

Course Content

• Theory: The court from a lawyer’s perspective – the system. The court from a witness’s perspective – the process.

• Practice: Practical case study. The psychiatrist in the witness box – the experience. The debrief – the lessons learned.

Participants are required to bring with them a witness statement or expert report (2 copies) which will form the basis of their cross examination during the course of the afternoon. This is a prerequisite of attendance. This course includes a practical court case study role-play. Delegates are asked to dress accordingly for a court appearance.

Registration

The course fee is £250 per delegate including all learning materials, refreshments and buffet lunch.
