Do Do bird

Do do bird

The internal feeling when one is under the sway of being pulled in one direction or another, pressurised to act is shown in the cartoon of the ‘Do Do Bird’- a feeling of lots of hands forcing us to do something with pieces of paper or requests for activity. I used this slightly beleaguered cartoon of a Dodo bird to make a play on the idea of the imperative to do do!

Sometimes when we are highly pressurised with a patient to act on their behalf such as to admit them to hospital in the middle of the night when otherwise they might try to take their own life, we can feel that we are in the midst of a life or death situation and somebody may become ‘extinct’- hence the play on the ‘Do Do Bird’.
