Welcome to the Student Associate
Newsletter, futurePsych

You can see previous editions using the links
below, and you'll see that we've had a major facelift over the past
year!
We are always looking for new submissions from
medical students, foundation doctors, or from others on subjects
relevant to future careers in psychiatry or which would be of
interest to medical students and foundation doctors considering a
career in psychiatry.

Guidelines for
submissions
Articles should be between 400-600 words
but shorter ones, especially adverts for upcoming events, courses
or conferences, are welcomed. Any topics that are relevant to
future careers in psychiatry or which would be of interest to
medical students and foundation doctors considering a career in
psychiatry always have a better chance at being accepted. We
love hearing about innovative SSCs (student selected components),
your psychiatry society, events and conferences you have attended,
new books or films related to psychiatry, and your psychiatry
medical electives. Articles will be peer-reviewed by a member
of the editorial team who does not know the author personally
(unless this isn't possible, for example if the author is a
newsletter team member who is known to us all).
We aim for something really visually appealing
and can include lots of relevant pictures as futurePsych is sent to
all Student Associates of the College by email - so we have no
printing costs. We do of course have to have permission to
reproduce photos and pictures, so we will need to know where the
ones you supply have come from. We would also like to include
a photo of you, the author, and your email address so that
interested people can contact you, if you are happy with
this.
Please email the editorial
team with any new submissions or ideas for commissioned
articles.
If you are a medical student or
foundation doctor, and would like to receive notification
when the latest edition of futurePsych has been
published, please join the College as a student associate member.
