The student
associate newsletter is sent to hundreds of medical students
and foundation trainees across the country and is published on
the website of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Articles should be a
maximum of 400-500 words. If you want to write
something longer, please write a 400-500 word summary of your
article for the newsletter and provide a longer article for
the College website, which can be linked from the newsletter.
The newsletter has the following themes:
- Psychiatry
societies - News from psychiatry societies across the
country
- Electives and
international mental health - Organising electives,
elective reports, research electives, special study modules,
and articles about psychiatry overseas
- Psychiatry and the
arts - Explorations of mental illness,
psychiatry and psychoanalysis in film, literature, art
and popular culture
- Careers in
psychiatry - Experiences of different
psychiatric subspecialties, and how to apply for psychiatric
training posts
- Education -
Accounts of psychiatry attachments, intercalated degrees, tips for
passing psychiatry exams, reviews on resources, etc
- Events -
Information about forthcoming events, and reviews on past
events
