There are lots of opportunities to apply for funding to
support your psychiatry studies, through bursaries and awards
schemes run by the college.
Medical students in their penultimate year
can apply for the Pathfinder Fellowship award, which is worth up to
£5,000 over three years and comes with a range of fantastic
Final year Student Associates who are about to
start their Foundation Year in 2018 are eligible for the Foundation
Fellowship, worth up to £3000 over two years.
Our divisions run regional award schemes, while faculties offer
opportunities relating to sub-specialties. We also have special
interest groups (SIGs) which offer prizes to medical students and
The RCPsych Awards mark the highest levels of achievement in
psychiatry, and have now been extended to include awards for
medical students and foundation doctors.
RCPsych is offering up to 11 bursaries for medical students
looking for financial support to undertake presentations,
research projects and electives in psychiatry.
