Edinburgh University Psychiatry Society

Edinburgh University Psychiatry Society was formed in 2009 by two fourth year students from the University of Edinburgh Medical School.

The society was founded to:

  • promote awareness and understanding of psychiatric illness and therapies
  • discuss topical issues involving psychiatry and society
  • promote psychiatry to undergraduates
  • promote psychiatry as a future career

The society hosts regular meetings throughout the year with a variety of presentations from students and psychiatrists, video nights, informal debates and social events. All students, whether studying medicine or not, are welcome and the society is looking to grow further in the years to come.
