Bursaries

Medical Students and Trainees in the UK

The College will be offering a number of bursaries to help enable medical students and trainees in the UK, who intend to present a poster or short presentation of their research, to attend the International Congress. Bursaries can be used towards covering the cost of registration fees, standard class travel, accommodation and reasonable subsistence expenses.

 

International

The College will be offering a number of bursaries to help enable delegates from overseas who intend to present a poster or short presentation of their research, to attend the International Congress. Bursaries can be used towards covering the cost of registration fees, standard class travel, accommodation and reasonable subsistence expenses.

Please note that bursaries are only available to those that submit an abstract for presentation at the conference.

 

How to apply for a bursary: Applicants should ensure they indicate on the online submission form that they are applying for a bursary.

If awarded a bursary, recipients should submit all expense claims, together with receipts, to Kitti Kottasz, Royal College of Psychiatrists, 21 Prescot Street, London E1 8AA within four weeks of the conference. Applications for reimbursement received after this time will not be accepted.

Prizes

The College is offering a number of prizes for the best poster and oral presentations by students or trainees.

 

RCPsych Student or Foundation Doctor Researcher of the Year

Who can apply:
Any medical student or Foundation doctor in the UK with an interest in academic psychiatry.

Prizes:

Categories:

  • Service Evaluation/Audit
  • Education and Training
  • Research

Each category will be awarded the following prizes:

Best poster:

  • Winner £100
  • Runner-up £50

Best oral presentation:

  • Winner £150
  • Runner-up £100

 

RCPsych Junior/trainee researcher of the year

Who can apply:
All doctors in psychiatry training posts (CT1-3, ST4-6 or LATs) from across the UK

Category:

  • Service Evaluation/Audit
  • Education and Training
  • Research

Prizes:

Best poster:

  • Winner £100
  • Runner-up £50

Best oral presentation:

  • Winner £150
  • Runner-up £100

 

Psychopharmacology Special Committee Prize

Who can apply:
Any student in the UK with an interest in academic psychiatry and all doctors in psychiatry training posts (CT1-3, ST4-6 or LATs) from across the UK

Prize:

Best psychopharmacology poster:

  • Winner £100
  • Runner-up £50
