The Royal College of Psychiatrists Improving the lives of people with mental illness

Perinatal Psychiatry training event

30 May - 1 June 2017

London

In response to funding from NHS England, the RCPsych is supporting the building of capacity in Perinatal Mental Health Services. This includes delivering a number of training events to Consultant Psychiatrists in the sub-speciality of perinatal psychiatry. We’ve already delivered one training event in April 2016, and we will be delivering another one from 30 May - 1 June 2017, in London.

The event can accept 50 participants who are already Consultant Psychiatrists (e.g. General Adult psychiatrists or those doing 1-2 sessions in Perinatal Mental Health) who have little formal training in this specialty. Trainees who are within 6 months of their CCT will also be considered.

Places on the course are free to Consultant Psychiatrists in England as this training is funded by NHS England. A nominal fee of £600 will apply to Psychiatrists from the Celtic Nations.  All attendees will be expected to participate fully in the three-day training programme, so applicants need to ensure they can uphold this commitment, before applying.

If you would like to attend, please send a brief CV and a statement as to why you would like to attend and how you and your service / geographical area would benefit from your attendance on this training. Please send your application to val.andrews@rcpsych.ac.uk by Friday 10 March 2017.
