PbR for Specialist Alcohol Services - Assessment and Cluster
Tool Training
Two types of training are offered:
1. Foundation training
PbR for Specialist Alcohol services –
Foundation Training. Delivered directly to all staff who will be
involved in assessment and clustering.
Foundation Course
This course will be run centrally in London
from 10.00am - 16.00pm. It is suitable for anyone working in
or commissioning specialist alcohol services who wish to develop an
understanding of the Specialist Alcohol PbR programme and how to
use the clustering tool to allocate a service user to a
cluster.

Proposed Learning
Objectives
- Describe the background to the
development of PbR for Specialist Alcohol services and it’s place
in today’s NHS
- Provide an overview of the current MHCT
and Alcohol Clustering Tool (ACT) scales
- Explain the rules and
principles of rating the scales
- Illustrate how the ACT score
profile translates into a cluster
- Provide experience through
practice with a vignette to provide a practical illustration of the
process
- Identify how MHCT/ACT scales
can benefit clinical practice and review outcomes
Aims
This course aims to provide an overview of the
PbR for Specialist Alcohol Services Assessment and Clustering Tool
and is intended to help delegates become competent in the use the
relevant tools and processes.
Who should attend
All front line staff who will be involved in
assessment and clustering of clients, managers of treatment
services as well as people who commission these services.
Course fee
£250.00 including all materials, refreshments
and buffet lunch.
Accreditation
This course will be eligible for 5 CPD hours
subject to peer group approval.
2. Bespoke on-site training
Bespoke courses on request to
suit your specific organisational needs
We are experienced in providing bespoke
packages to meet the needs of individual organisations, though in
order that we can provide sessions in a cost effective manner, the
number of participants normally needs to be at least 20 people.
We will deliver training on site and can
provide a flexible approach to the negotiation and agreement of
dates. We would provide:
- Course materials for each delegate
- Advice, guidance and support
- Speaker booking and liaison
- Course evaluation
- Certificates of attendance
We would normally expect you to provide:
- Suitable teaching accommodation which is
light comfortable and airy
- A buffet lunch and refreshments
- Audio visual equipment
- Photocopying facilties during the event (if required)
- A member of staff to register delegates, act
as the key contact with the trainer and ensure the smooth running
of the day
