The Royal College of Psychiatrists Improving the lives of people with mental illness

Mental Health Spending

New research from the Royal College of Psychiatrists shows there are huge variations in spending for children and young people’s mental health across the country.

Our figures show that:

  • 33 CCGs spent less than £35 per head on mental health for children and young people in 2016/17

  • 148 CCGs spent between £35 and £70 per head

  • 28 CCGs spent less more than £70 per head

Our online tool can help you find out how much was spent on mental health for children and young people in your region in 2016/17.
