The Royal College of Psychiatrists Improving the lives of people with mental illness

RCPsychiS Monthly Update

There are a number of Consultations ongoing at present, including Free Personal Care (Persons Under 65), Pre-Recorded Evidence, Parole Reform, and Sentencing.  RCPsychiS Faculties are busy drafting responses to these and others.

In the media, Dr Elaine Lockhart, RCPsychiS CAMHS Faculty Chair, was interviewed by BBC Radio Scotland about early intervention at school in the context of delayed referrals to CAMHS.

The coming months are some of our busiest with a number of Faculty Conferences being held including Forensic, Old Age, CAMHS and Psychotherapy (who this year are holding their event in association with MKT).

Sadly, we also received the news of the loss of Professor Chris Freeman, Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist who worked in Eating Disorders for over 40 years.
