College session at the 1st Asian World Congress in Goa - 2- 5
August 2007
The South Asian Forum International on Mental Health &
Psychiatry hosted its First World Congress at Goa,
India on 2nd August – 5th August, 2007.
This was a co-sponsored event with WPA Section on Psychiatry in
Developing Countries, South Asian Division of Royal College of
Psychiatrists, UK, World Federation of Societies of Biological
Psychiatry, World Association of Psychological Rehabilitation,
World Health Organisation, World Federation of Mental Health and
Asian Federation of Psychiatric Associations.
The congress had a range of
scientific sessions addressing advances in the field of mental
health.
Of importance was the advances
to mental health and psychiatry of the various regions of the
globe, acknowledging the expertise of psychiatry in the developing
and developed world.
International Meeting of the WPA
The First International Meeting of
the WPA Section of Psychiatry in Developing Countries was
presented in Lahore, Pakistan, 15-18 February 2007.
It was jointly
organised with the South Asian Forum on Mental Health, World
Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation, South Asian Division
of Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK, Asian Federation of
Psychiatric Associations & World Federation for Mental
Health.
