Psychiatric leadership is fundamental to services, and to
ensuring safety, clinical effectiveness and improved patient
I am clear that psychiatrists need to be involved in service
management and development,thus improving health for all. I’m
therefore thrilled to have the opportunity to lead the development
of leadership and management across all specialities and grades
within psychiatry. In my role at the College I will be focussing on
key areas including education, networks and comprehensive
membership engagement. I would welcome your thoughts and ideas, and

The College is working closely with the Faculty of Medical
Leadership and Management. FMLM is a new UK-wide organisation
that aims to promote the advancement of medical leadership,
management and quality improvement at all stages of the medical
career for the benefit of patients.
Don't miss Europe's biggest medical leadership event! The
FMLM Conference 2013 will be held on 14 - 16 October 2013.
14th October is a competitively priced education day and the annual
conference (free to FMLM members) is on 15 - 16 October 2013.
The Royal College of Psychiatrists will be holding a breakfast
