Associate Registrar for Policy Support

The College wishes to appoint an Associate Registrar for Policy Support, to start in July 2017, when the current incumbent, Dr Owen Bowden-Jones, demits from the role.

The Associate Registrar for Policy Support should be a senior member of the College who has a keen interest in developing and influencing College policy.

This role works closely with the College’s Policy Unit, and supports the Registrar in taking responsibility for the College’s submissions of evidence (in England, and in the UK where appropriate), in the form of responses to government consultations, consultations from professional bodies, comments on NICE guidelines, and submissions to Select Committee and other Inquiries. The Associate Registrar also deputises for the Registrar at internal and external policy meetings.

In addition to advising on and approving government and other consultation responses, responsibilities include advising on the College’s responses to NICE consultations, its contributions to NICE scoping guidelines and representation at NICE workshops, working closely with the Policy Unit and other College members as agreed.

Members interested in applying should send a covering letter outlining why the post is of interest to them, and why their expertise and experience is suited to the role, together with a two-page CV, to Helen Phillips - helen.phillips@rcpsych.ac.uk.

Closing date for applications: 11.45 pm on 6 April, 2017.

Interviews will be held at the College in London between 9-11am on Thursday, 27 April 2017.
