From 1 January 2016, the College Centre for
Quality Improvement will no longer be offering member services the
accreditation status of ‘excellent’. Instead, services will either
receive the status of ‘accredited’, ‘accreditation deferred’, or
‘not accredited’. To achieve accreditation, member services
must meet the majority of CCQI quality standards and satisfy an
external review team that the service they provide is of the
No longer being ‘accredited as excellent’ is
not a reflection on the member service, it is a reflection of a
change in process at the Centre for Quality
Improvement. Teams accredited as excellent before
January 2016 will retain their status until their next full review,
subject to satisfactory interim review.
