The transformational impact of the cross-College exams digitisation project has been globally recognised, with the College being shortlisted to win an international e-Assessment Award.

The transformational impact of the cross-College exams digitisation project has been globally recognised, with the College being shortlisted as a finalist for the fifth international e-Assessment Awards.

The awards showcase the very best practice, research and innovation in testing and assessment where technology has enabled transformation, improved outcomes and enhanced teaching and learning.

The College is up against strong competition with other finalists from worldwide organisations including test publishers, academic institutions, awarding organisations and technology providers.

Commenting on being shortlisted for the award, Dr Ian Hall, Chief Examiner said. “This is testament to the hard work and innovation of the cross-College project team and our examiners.

"The College set out an incredibly ambitious timeline to digitise the delivery of all its exams. When we started work on the project, we were told that no-one had ever tried to deliver at scale, clinical assessments remotely and that projects like this would normally take one-and-a-half to two years.

"Not only did we manage to squeeze delivery into just a few months, we have achieved fantastic completion rates with over 98% of candidates successfully completing the remote clinical exams.”

Since the College exams were migrated to computer based and remote delivery around 3,000 candidates have sat the written and clinical exams.

The winners of the e-Assessment Awards will be announced at the International e-Assessment Conference in June 2021.
