Dr Amanda Thompsell

Dr Amanda Thompsell was briefly a GP Principal and then a clinical assistant in old age medicine before retraining part time in psychiatry.
She has always been interested in care homes and was a consultant with the Care Homes Support Team working with care homes with nursing before moving to old age liaison at Lewisham Hospital.
More recently she has worked in specialist care. She was vice chair of the NICE quality standards development of medicines management in care homes and has recently led on the improving care work stream for London Dementia Strategic Clinical leadership group.
Dr Thompsell is particularly interested in Namaste care, improving end of life care for those with dementia, dementia friendly technology and oral health in people with dementia.
