Danny is a clinical academic forensic psychiatrist. After completing his higher training in forensic psychiatry in 2018 he was awarded an NIHR Doctoral Research Fellowship to complete a PhD, based at the Forensic Psychiatry Research Group in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford. His doctoral work validated and clinically translated a violence risk prediction model for use in Early Intervention in Psychosis services. His primary research interests are in applying prediction tool approaches in psychiatric settings, as well as clinical forensic research and the epidemiology of violence in mental illness. He is now based at the University of Nottingham, Institute of Mental Health and works clinically in prison mental health services.
