Professor Regi Alexander

Regi is a Consultant Psychiatrist at Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust and a Visiting Professor at the University of Hertfordshire. A practising clinician with research interests focusing on the psychiatry of neuro-developmental disorders, he was a member of the NICE guidelines panel on mental health in learning disability and the editor of a number of RCPsych treatment guidelines.
Currently he is an Associate Dean of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, President elect of the Royal Society of Medicine- Intellectual Disability Section, Editor of the Oxford Textbook of Psychiatry of Intellectual Disability, Deputy Editor of BJPsych Open and Convenor of RADiANT – a research consortium that brings together a large number of NHS Trusts, university academics, service users and family members.
With a particular interest in public education, he also edits Village Voice, an award winning community magazine in East Anglia. In 2018, he was awarded the President's medal of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
