Dr Steve Pearce
Chair, Medical Psychotherapy Faculty
Dr Steve Pearce works as a medical psychotherapy consultant in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire and he is Programme Director of the Oxford Health Complex Needs Service, a specialised personality disorder service.
Dr Pearce was elected Chair of the medical psychotherapy faculty in June 2018 having been Vice Chair since March 2016.
He is Vice Chair of the College Professional Practice and Ethics Committee and Chair of the NHS England Specialised Mental Health clinical reference group, which advises NHSE on the commissioning of specialist services for eating disorders, personality disorders, deaf mental health, OCD and body dysmorphic disorder. Prior to this he was chair of the NHSE Tier 4 personality disorder clinical reference group.
Dr Pearce is a past Chair of the College Centre for Quality Improvement therapeutic community quality network and a past President of the British & Irish Group for the Study of Personality Disorder. He occasionally works as a specialist advisor to CQC.
