INTRODUCTION 

We invite submissions for poster and oral presentation at the annual conference. Submissions should be in the form of an abstract of no more than 300 words and submitted by email by 15:00 on Friday 8 March 2019. If your abstract is accepted, you will be asked to prepare a poster for display at the conference and your abstract will be included in the proceedings booklet for the meeting. 

 
NEW RESEARCH COMPETITION - TRAINEES
The Faculty of Liaison Psychiatry will shortlist the best five trainee submissions for oral presentation in a New Research slot at the meeting. All submissions with completed results will automatically be considered for the New Research oral presentation.
 
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO PREPARE ABSTRACTS:
Please follow these instructions carefully. If your abstract is sent in an incorrect format it will be returned to you for re-formatting.
 
1. Abstracts should be typed single spaced, font size (10), Verdana in Word format using standard text, or text-only format. Hand-written abstracts will not be accepted.
2. The title should be in bold, followed by the full name(s) of the author and all co-authors, including titles (e.g. Dr not Dr. and their affiliations e.g.
Assessment of depression in Emergency Unit of DGH
Dr Andrew Brown and Dr Beverley Jones, Riverview Mental Health NHS Trust, Southington; Ms Wendy Smith, The Nightingale Clinic, Staunton – If all authors are of the same affiliation please write the name only once. Do not include the full address of affiliation.)
4. The title must contain no abbreviations.
5. The title or author name (s) must not be written in CAPS
6. The abstract must be no longer than 300 words.
7. The abstract should present in order: 
• the aims
• methods
• results
• comments/ conclusions. 
If no information is given in the abstract about the results of the study, the authors must include a covering letter of explanation with their submission.  
8. Abstracts must be aligned only to the left
9. Do not include any page borders or illustrations/graphics
10. Bibliographic references, tables and appendices must not be included in the abstract.
 
HOW TO SEND ABSTRACTS:
Abstracts should be sent via e-mail to sarah.morrissey@rcpsych.ac.uk with a subject reference of ‘Author’s Surname – LIAISON 2019’.  The following information should be included in the covering message only:
- Name of presenting author
- Membership number (if applicable) or date of birth
- Mailing address
- Email 
- Daytime telephone
- Name of main author’s work organisation
 
SUBMISSION DEADLINE:  15:00 on Friday 8 March 2019
 
LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
