Event Information

This is an event to inform and inspire you about a career in psychiatry: what it involves and the difference that you can make. 

You will hear from some inspirational leaders in the field, get a chance to ask all the questions you really want answered in a specialty speed dating event, and find out the practicalities of what the training involves and how to make a successful application. 

The day will include:

  • A chance to ask questions and find out what they want to know about psychiatry
  • Discuss specialty options in psychiatry
  • Support for Trainees
  • Learning opportunities within psychiatry
  • How to prepare a high standard application for job/training posts

The event is aimed at anyone considering a career in psychiatry, from medical student to core trainees. 

This is an exciting chance for Core Trainees and Foundation Year Doctors to discuss the opportunities in Psychiatry and the Training opportunities and support offered.

The programme (doc) promises to be exciting, informative and an opportunity to learn more about specialties within Psychiatry.  Speakers include Dame Fiona Caldicott, Professor Andrea Cipriani, Dr Ross Runciman, Dr Alastair Reid, Dr Hasanen Al-Taiar, Dr Kate Saunders, Dr Daniel Maughan, Dr Anoop Saraf and Dr Mina Fazel - amongst others.
